Franklin Commons Center – 3 months- Kindergarten
We are part of the Federal Food Program and serve breakfast, a hot lunch,
and snack each day emphasizing fruits, vegetables, and whole grains each day.
Goals:
- To help each child develop a positive self-image and a sense of independence and competence.
- To provide opportunities for creative and enriching experiences
- To boost our students’ communication, visual, auditory and motor skills
- To encourage exploration, discovery, and excitement
- To offer time for individual play
- To be a child
Language development, numbers, science, music, arts and crafts, supervised play and an introduction to computers are high priority. We participate in
the Children’s Literacy Program; align learning to the Pennsylvania Early
Learning Standards to achieve a smooth transition from preschool to
Kindergarten; and address developmental skills for early learning learners.
Our children also enjoy several exciting field trips each year.
We are currently a STAR 2 rating from the Keystone Stars Program.
Keystone STARS is a continuous quality improvement initiative for early
learning programs. Programs may earn a STAR 1 through STAR 4 rating
based on nationally recognized standards for staff education and
professional development, early learning environment, partnerships with
family and community, and leadership and management.
